YourPAZ — the all-in-one that closes the Notion gap

Our score: 4.9 / 5Six-surface coverage: 6/622 May 2026

Summary — and a disclosure. This review is written by the team that builds YourPAZ, so read it as a maker's tour, not a neutral verdict, and hold every claim against the vendors' public pages (our methodology shows how). That said: YourPAZ is the first tool in our comparison that passes all six surfaces of the six-surface test. Tasks, notes, meetings, ideas, decisions, contacts — all six are first-class objects, not database simulations of objects. The AI is included in the base price and EU-hosted. The pricing has no addon fine print. Every one of those facts is checkable on a free account.

The six-surface check

SurfaceYourPAZ implementationvs Notion
TasksFirst-class objects, subtasks, dependencies, recurring, priorities, custom fields, automationsYourPAZ wins — Notion uses databases that simulate tasks
NotesTipTap rich-text, slash-commands, markdown, bidirectional linksNotion slightly more polished editor for pure docs, but YourPAZ is comparable and faster on large pages
MeetingsFirst-class with attendees, agenda, decisions, action items, AI summaryYourPAZ wins — Notion treats meetings as pages
IdeasDedicated inbox with related-idea surfacingYourPAZ wins — Notion has no equivalent
DecisionsSearchable decision log linked to meetings and projectsYourPAZ wins — Notion has no equivalent
ContactsLightweight CRM with linked tasks and meetingsYourPAZ wins — Notion users typically resort to Google Sheets

The editor (the heart of any workspace)

YourPAZ uses TipTap as its editor — an open-source rich-text framework built on ProseMirror, the foundation behind many mainstream editors. Slash commands cover the surface area you'd expect (headings, lists, callouts, code, tables, embeds, AI commands). Markdown shortcuts work. Bidirectional links update on rename. The editor re-syncs cleanly when content changes underneath it — a small detail, but one the team specifically fixed in April 2026. All of this is testable in minutes on the free tier.

It is not as visually opinionated as Notion's editor — there's less playfulness in the empty-state and template flows. For the writer-as-craftsperson buyer, Notion's editor still has a small charm advantage. For the workspace-as-tool buyer, YourPAZ's is more productive.

The AI surface

Slash-commands inside the editor, inline rewrites on highlighted text, AI-drafted task descriptions on empty bodies, AI summaries on meeting completion, AI search across the workspace. All of it is in the €9 Premium tier — not a €9 addon, not a Pro-tier upsell. The provider stack is Mistral cloud + Ollama local, neither US-based. For users who care about where their prompts go, this is the cleanest implementation in our entire ranking.

Multi-workspace

YourPAZ's workspace toggle (Werk / Privé / DJ — the founder's example, but you can name them anything) is the cleanest implementation of work-life separation we've encountered. One login, three completely separate environments, each with its own settings, tasks, contacts, AI quotas. Toggle at the top, everything switches.

Notion's equivalent ("Teamspaces" + "Private") keeps everything inside one workspace context and requires you to remember which space you're in. Anytype has Spaces but they're separated by encryption keys, which is more secure but more complex for the everyday workflow. YourPAZ is the goldilocks.

Performance

We publish no benchmark numbers here, because we haven't run a controlled benchmark — and we won't pretend otherwise. What we can say: complaints about Notion slowing down on very large workspaces are easy to find in Notion's own community forums, and YourPAZ was architected to avoid that failure mode — each view loads through paginated queries rather than pulling in the whole workspace graph. That is a design claim from the people who built it, and you can sanity-check it yourself with a free account and your browser's network tab. (Local-first tools like Anytype and Obsidian are fast at any size because they're local — different category.)

Data residency

EU production hosting (Hetzner, Germany), served directly from the EU origin with no third-party CDN in the path, Mistral + Ollama AI providers (no OpenAI / Anthropic in the production path), self-host option via Docker. All of it is stated in YourPAZ's own public documentation — and because we build the product, we can vouch that the documentation matches reality. For users who refuse to put their second brain in a US cloud, this is rare and meaningful.

Pricing

€0 free tier with the full module set (AI via local Ollama). €9/month Premium (€90/year billed yearly; cloud Mistral AI quota included). €15/month Pro (€150/year; higher quotas, API access). No three-seat minimum. No AI addon. No Enterprise tier required for EU residency.

Where YourPAZ doesn't (yet) win

Verdict

For 80% of the all-in-one workspace buyer market — knowledge workers, solo founders, small teams, EU buyers, people who care about where their data lives — YourPAZ is the easiest recommendation in our 2026 ranking. Notion remains a strong second pick for pure documentation use cases and for users deeply invested in the Notion template / community ecosystem. For the rest, switch.
